FAQ's: Groupize.ai Hosting Migration to AWS
At Groupize.ai, we continuously invest in our technology stack to better serve enterprise customers with enhanced performance, security, and compliance capabilities. One example of this is the transition from our current hosting provider, Heroku (a Salesforce company), to direct hosting on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This is taking place on Monday, September 8, 2025 between the hours of 3am-6am EDT.
While a detailed client communication was sent out directly, below are some FAQ's that should answer any questions you may have.
What is changing?
- We are migrating our hosting infrastructure from Heroku (a Salesforce Company) to Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Why are you making this change?
- To improve service performance, scalability, and availability, and strengthen our security posture by directly leveraging AWS’s enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure.
When will the migration happen?
- The migration is scheduled for Monday, September 8, 2025. Customers will be notified before and after the transition is complete.
Will there be any downtime or service interruptions?
- We anticipate a seamless migration with a short overnight downtime to avoid disruption to services. This will take place on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 3am-6am EDT.
How does this affect my data?
- Data Residency: No change
- Data Security: All data remains encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Access Controls: Maintained or enhanced using AWS best practices.
Does this affect our contract or DPA (Data Processing Agreement)?
- Yes, it may qualify as a change of subprocessors under GDPR or similar frameworks. If your DPA requires notification or approval, this serves as official notice.
Is AWS compliant with necessary regulations?
- Yes. AWS is certified for standards including:
- SOC 2
- ISO 27001
- GDPR
Do I need to take any action?
- Most customers do not need to take any action. If your agreement requires approval of new subprocessors, please contact us at security@groupize.com within 30 days.
